The Refuge offers a quality hunting experience for deer, moose, turkey, grouse, partridge, pheasant, fox, and waterfowl.

Beginning Fall 2018, moose hunting will be allowed on J. Clark Salyer NWR. A permit issued by the ND Game & Fish Department for Unit M9 is required to hunt moose on the Refuge. Hunting on the Refuge is in accordance with all Refuge and State regulations.
