Resource Management Plans

The Lakeview District has two planning units: the Klamath Falls Resource Area encompassing about 225,000 acres of public lands in southern Klamath County, Oregon and the Lakeview Resource Area encompassing about 3.2 million acres of public lands in Lake and Harney Counties, Oregon.

The public lands within the Klamath Falls Resource Area are a mix of forest and rangelands. Klamath Falls Resource Area completed the Klamath Falls Resource Record of Decision and Resource Management Plan (RMP) in 1995 to guide land management activities within the resource area. The Upper Klamath Basin and Wood River Wetland Record of Decision and RMP was completed in 1996 to address wetland restoration on approximately 3,000 acres of recently acquired lands in the Wood River wetland in northern Klamath County. Additional information on these land use plans can be obtained by contacting the Planning and Environmental Coordinator at 541-883-6916.

The public lands within the Lakeview Resource Area are mostly desert shrub/grass rangelands. The Lakeview Resource Area completed the Lakeview Resource Management Plan in November 2003. Information on this plan can be obtained by contacting the Planning and Environmental Coordinator at 541-947-2177.
